Γραφικός ψαράδικος οικισμός, επίνειο του Εμπορειού, όπου βρίσκονται τα Ιπποκράτεια λουτρά, η Παναγία Θερμιανή και οι παραλίες Παχειά Αμμος και Λυές. Πήρε το όνομά του από το λατινικό palus, τους πασσάλους δηλαδή, όπου έδεναν τα πλοία.
