As you make your way up towards the village of Gianisseo in Korthi, you will see the impressive church of the Presentation of Mary (Agridiotissa) next to the road. The church is a symbol of Korthi and can be seen from any point of the area around it. A trail leading to Kato Chorio and a road with a beautiful view leading to Pano Chorio, begin at the church. You can leave your car in the parking lot of the small mountain village of Gianisseo (that is also named Stavros in the census records of the island), which is located at the centre of Paleokastro.
