They were sets of rural buildings which consisted of the main \u201cthemonia\u201d, the \u201ckalyvi\u201d (hut) and the so-called \u201capoklistra\u201d (the surrounding wall). All the Syrians had \u201cthemonies\u201d inside their farmlands in order to store their tools or so as they can protect themselves from the heat, the cold and the rain. Later on from \u201cthemonies\u201d came the \u201ckatikies\u201d, the rural houses of the Syrians.
