Andros Apoikia and the Spring of Sariza

The route towards Apoikia is enjoyable and very refreshing, as you are surrounded by plane trees and plenty of flowing water; a landscape that is rare in the Cyclades. Just before you enter the settlement, you will see a small sign showing the way towards the spring of Pithara. Going there on foot is definitely worth the trouble. Afterwards, you can make a stop and drink some water from the stone wall fountain of the settlement. As you leave the village, you will come across a water bottling plant, where “Sariza Spring” water is bottled. After walking past the bottling plant, you will notice the bell tower of Panagia Katasyrti on your right. Info Apoikia was a well-known spa tourism resort from 1970 to 1980.
