Messaria used to be the main agricultural village of the area. It still supplies Chora’s market with products from its fertile farms. Make sure you don’t miss the tower houses of Lorentzos Kairis (built in 1760), Athanasios and Kambanis. You should also pay a visit to the Byzantine church of Taxiarchis (12th century) located amidst a serene and verdant landscape.
