Beside the monument of Santrape there is the church of Agios Georgios (19th century) which is surrounded by enormous eucalyptus trees. It was built of stone, but later it was calcinated and its interior is unfinished. A small section of mosaic floor, pessaries (oval stones) and some parapet slabs of the iconostasis reveal the existence of the post-Byzantine church of Agios Georgios Malaxos or Psifios, of the 17th century, where the current church is now located.
