Patmos By boat

Patmos - By boat

The western end of Patmos is inaccessible because of the steep slopes. The eastern side, especially the part that extends north and east of Skala has many beaches where you can find shelter, no matter how the weather is.

The only organized port of Patmos, Skala, offers protection from S, SE and NE winds. It has limited spaces in the marina. Be careful when you tie your boat so that you don’t get in the way of cruise ships that drop anchor outside the marina.

Other anchorages: Merikas, the old port of Patmos offers good protection from SE winds and the locals believe that in times of strong southeastern winds it is the best anchorage. The bay of Agios Nikolaos is protected from S winds and is considered the best harbor for small boats. Grikos is a good anchorage, especially in summer. On the N side there is a dock for the boats of the locals.
