On the Prasonisi islet, south of Rhodes, the 14 meters high lighthouse stands. It was constructed in 1890 by the French Company of Ottoman Lighthouses. The austere circular tower houses at its base the lighthouse keeper’s dwelling. Its focal height is 14m. In 1986 the lighthouse became automatic.
