Rhodes Vati

A small village with a very beautiful square and a wonderful coffee house made of stone (it is an inn from 1780) and located under the thick shade of trees. The church of Agios Ioannis o Theologos (Saint John the Theologian) is a typical example of a church in the Dodecanese. On the mountain over the village there are many crawlways, which the locals call β€œroufoukia” (shelters) –some of them even connect to the other side of the mountain. Italian soldiers had opened them when they encamped in Vati.
