The male monastery of Profitis Ilias was built between 1711-1724 in a location 567m over Pyrgos where there were two chapels of the 15th and 16th century dedicated to Profitis Ilias and Ipapanti. It is a Patriarchal and Stavropegic monastery. Today there are a few monks living there and women’s ban has been abolished since 1853. There is a celebration that is taking place on 20th July in memory of Profitis Ilias. Finally, you can enjoy the panoramic view from this monastery.
