A dirt road heads up to Profitis Ilias (3.5km NE of Chora). A wide at first path begins from the country church going eastwards passing by a clearing with a panoramic view towards both of the island’s sides. Afterwards it gets narrower, it passes through stone walls, it reaches the chapel of Agia Triada, it passes by a sheepfold and it ends up low at the chapel of Agios Nikolaos and even lower at Sternaki. After that it climbs the southern side of the hill up until the peak with the archaeological remains of Paleokastro fraught with brushwood and the endless view towards the four cardinal points.
Duration non-stop: 1 hour and 25 minutes.
