Apella is considered the most beautiful beach of Karpathos and one of the best of the Mediterranean by most of the tourists. Besides, Apella receives a commendation almost every year for the emerald and cyan waters, the small rocks that are suitable for diving “bets” and the big pines surrounding the beach. Spring waters run down the steep slopes over it and the natural landscape is trully one of the most beautiful of the Dodecanese. On your way to the beach you’ll notice to your left the chapel of Agios Loukas that is carved into the rock. There are amazing murals created in the 12th century inside it.
