It is located in Adamantas; it is housed in a modern building and it shows the mining and geological history of Milos. It was created by “S&B Industrial Minerals S.A.”, the biggest excavation company on the island (it is the one that has financed the convention centre in Adamantas and the Cultural Centre of Pollonia). The museum was inaugurated in 1998. Many old mining tools, a trolley, picks, arcade lamps, and even clothes and shoes that the workers used to wear are exhibited at the ground floor. On the first floor there is a rich collection of minerals and ores from Milos, with detailed maps, photos etc. Very touching is the documentary which you will see at the projection room, on the basement, with testimonies of male and female workers in the quarries.
