Ios By boat

Ios - By boat

Ios has 87 kilometers of coastline, 32 km of which are beaches. The southern part is the richest in terms of beaches and the most secure one, since the northern winds (‘meltemia’) do not affect it. When the weather conditions are fine we highly suggest you discover the other beaches of the island as well. Approach it cautiously as the seabed is rocky and the waters are shallow.

– The port of Ios, located on the western side, is considered one of the safest in the Cyclades and is suitable for all types of boats. At its entrance, on the west side you will clearly distinguish the islet of Diakofto. You can dock on the pier or moor on its extension. The muddy seabed offers a very good grip. The depth is 1-6 m.

– Other moorings: There are many bays (most of them in the south of the island) where you can moor your boat safely. Mylopotas offers protection and the seabed offers a good grip. Magganari is protected from the northern winds (‘meltemia’) and its sandy seabed offers a good grip. You can also moor in Kalamos and Koumbara.
