Η ευρύτερη περιοχή γύρω από την ερειπωμένη εκκλησία του Τιμίου Σταυρού στο Τσιγκούρι παρουσιάζει μεγάλο αρχαιολογικό ενδιαφέρον. Είναι διάσπαρτη από λείψανα μεσαιωνικού οικισμού και από αρχιτεκτονικά μέλη τα οποία ανάγονται στην Ελληνιστική και την Ρωμαϊκή περίοδο.
