Καστελλόριζο Castle of St. John’s Knights

The fort of the Crusader Knights of St. John’s Order (14^th century) is built upon Castello Rosso, the red rock. A narrow iron staircase leads to the bastion and it offers a wonderful view to the port. The church of Agios Nikolaos (15^th century) with the stone bell-tower is beside the entrance of the bastion. In the interior of the church there are rare murals of the 17^th century BC. A part of them is preserved and exhibited at the Diachronic Museum of Megisti.
